A few months ago, the hot-looking, saltwater-powered Quant e-Sportslimousine was cleared for road-testing in Europe. Its briny engine “generates a staggering 920 horsepower, goes 0-62 mph in 2.8 seconds, and propels the car to a top speed of 217.5 mph”. Read more about the $1.7M Quant sportscar here, or watch the promo video, below. The US Navy also announced a breakthrough in using seawater to power its ships, in the hopes of moving away from its dependance upon oil. The main challenges now are to improve efficiency and cost.
