Seth Godin always does a great job of taking something that should be obvious and is not and making it accessible. What he describes in this piece is understanding the value that human beings bring to each employer when looking past the very specific skills for which they are hired.

A huge part of our vetting at 10x Management is geared around finding human beings who are great communicators and problem solvers AND great technologists.

I can assure you that if you had one of the greatest technical minds in the world on your team but he or she was a horrible communicator and/or a profoundly difficult person, you would be better off without them. We are constantly aiming to optimize for this concept. Enjoy the read.
